Topaz - Utah, US Please noteUtah has produced some amazing topaz specimens, leading them to name it the state gemstone. Topaz from this area can be found alongside some other very interesting minerals known as fluorite, bixbite (red beryl), and bixbyite. Topaz is a silicate mineral that contains both aluminum and fluorine. The name Topaz is derived from the old French word "topazus", first applied during the 1730s. This mineral is most commonly found colorless or with slightly
